Divine Worship
Reflective of the call of the Second Vatican Council for “full, active and conscious participation” of all in the worship of the Church, the Office of Divine Worship provides the following services to parishes throughout the Diocese of Joliet:
- Responses to liturgical inquiries and consultations for parishes, schools, religious education programs and religious communities
- Preparation of major Diocesan liturgical celebrations
- Oversight of the the Diocesan Catechumenate Process and materials with training for parish directors
- Consultations with parishes and the Diocesan Environment and Art Committee on issues of church environment and art, as well as liturgical approval for new buildings or changes to present church worship space
- Confirmation scheduling and inquiries
- Formation for liturgical ministers and other ministries connected to the worship life of parishes; programs are in consultation with the Diocesan Liturgy Commission
- Liturgical materials for priests, deacons, parish liturgical leaders and parish staff members
- Responses to the liturgical needs of the Diocese as directed by the bishop
