Catechetical Formation
The Office of Catechetical Formation works diligently to ensure catechists receive proper training and ongoing formation opportunities they need to strive in a religious education environment.
In addition, the Office of Catechetical Formation is dedicated to providing Diocese of Joliet parishes and schools with best models and practices for religious education. The office works closely with religious education directors, principals and teachers to ensure every child is presented with opportunities to grow in their faith and feels equipped to share Christ’s love with others.
Catechist Formation
As Joe Paprocki, D.Min., national consultant for faith formation at Loyola Press, notes, catechist formation is more than a path to certification. Catechists provide a tremendous service to the Church and lead their students by striving to follow Christ. The Diocese of Joliet offers a variety of formation opportunities for our catechists in hopes they will continue to deepen their Catholic faith and in turn, be examples to the future of the Church.
The Diocese of Joliet has partnered with the Catechetical Institute of Franciscan University of Steubenville to offer online learning tracks for parish staff. Learn more at the following link:
